Mix Lab · units ↔ mL

Mix the vial. Move the water. Watch the units change.

Convert units to mL (and back) on a U-100 syringe, and see how the vial size and the water you add change every draw. Everything updates as you play.

Quick answer: on a U-100 insulin syringe, 100 units = 1 mL and 1 unit = 0.01 mL.

Units to mL on a U-100 syringe

Volume only: this holds for any liquid drawn into a U-100 syringe. How much of the compound that volume contains depends on how the vial was mixed.

FAQ

How many mL is 100 units?

On a U-100 insulin syringe, 100 units is 1 mL. Each unit is 0.01 mL.

How many mL is 10 units?

10 units on a U-100 syringe is 0.1 mL. 20 units is 0.2 mL, 50 units is 0.5 mL.

How do I convert units to mL?

Divide the units by 100 (U-100 syringe). To go from mL to units, multiply by 100. Example: 0.25 mL × 100 = 25 units.

How many units is 2.5 mg, or 250 mcg?

Units measure volume, so it depends on the concentration. Divide the vial (mg) by the water (mL), multiply by 10 to get mcg per unit, then divide your amount in mcg by that. A 5 mg vial with 2 mL is 25 mcg per unit, so 250 mcg is 10 units and 2.5 mg is 100 units.

Are syringe units the same as IU?

No. Syringe units are volume markings (1/100 of a mL on a U-100 syringe). IU (international units) is a measure of biological activity that only applies to specific medications such as insulin. Don’t convert between them without the product’s labeling.

Which syringe size should I use?

A 0.3 mL syringe holds 30 units, 0.5 mL holds 50, and 1 mL holds 100; smaller barrels are easier to read for small draws. All three are U-100, so the unit-to-mL math is the same. Follow the guidance of whoever prescribed or prepared your medication.

Does Peptide Vault tell me how much to use?

No. The Mix Lab only does arithmetic on the numbers you enter.
